Day 1: Arrival in Sri Lanka – Transfer to Kitulgala

Upon your arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, our friendly representative will be there to offer you a warm welcome and assist you with your transfer. You will then be driven to Kitulgala, a scenic riverside village known for its lush rainforests and thrilling adventure activities. The drive offers beautiful glimpses of Sri Lanka’s countryside and takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on traffic.

For your first night, you will enjoy a peaceful stay at the Planation Hotel, a luxury accommodation nestled close to nature, located approximately 5 km from Kitulgala town. Surrounded by greenery and tranquility, the hotel offers the perfect atmosphere to relax and unwind after your flight.

Day 2: Sacred Summit – Adam’s Peak Night Climb & Spiritual Sunrise

After a restful morning at your hotel in Kitulgala, the day slowly transitions from serenity to spiritual adventure. In the evening, prepare for one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic and soul-stirring experiences—the night ascent of Adam’s Peak, also known as Sri Pada.At around 6:00 PM, you will depart from Kitulgala and travel to Nallathanniya, the gateway to the sacred mountain. Around 8:00 PM, under a canopy of stars and glowing lanterns, you will begin the mystical climb.

Towering at 2,245 meters (7,242 feet) above sea level, Adam’s Peak is revered by followers of multiple faiths. To Buddhists, the sacred footprint at the summit is believed to be that of Lord Buddha. Hindus honour it as the mark of Lord Shiva, Muslims regard it as the footprint of Prophet Adam, and Christians believe it was visited by St. Thomas the Apostle. Few mountains in the world carry such deep spiritual diversity.

The trek to the top takes about 2.5 to 4 hours, depending on pace. Pilgrims and travelers alike climb through the night, drawn by the promise of witnessing a breathtaking sunrise. By 5:15 AM, the first golden hues of dawn break the horizon, with sunrise typically peaking around 5:30 to 5:40 AM—a truly awe-inspiring sight. as you climb, you’ll pass the Sama Chatiya – the World Peace Pagoda, built by Japanese monk Ven. Nichi Fuji in 1976. While the stupa remains subtle under nightfall, it shines gloriously in the morning light, adding a moment of peace to your journey.

Later in the morning, begin your scenic journey to Colombo, which takes approximately 6 hours, passing through lush landscapes, misty hills, and charming rural villages.

Upon arrival in Colombo, you will be transferred either to your city hotel or directly to Bandaranaike International Airport, depending on your flight schedule. As your spiritual and adventurous journey through Sri Lanka concludes, we bid you farewell with warm memories and blessings from the sacred summit of Sri Pada.
