After a restful morning at your hotel in Kitulgala, the day slowly transitions from serenity to spiritual adventure. In the evening, prepare for one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic and soul-stirring experiences—the night ascent of Adam’s Peak, also known as Sri Pada.At around 6:00 PM, you will depart from Kitulgala and travel to Nallathanniya, the gateway to the sacred mountain. Around 8:00 PM, under a canopy of stars and glowing lanterns, you will begin the mystical climb.
Towering at 2,245 meters (7,242 feet) above sea level, Adam’s Peak is revered by followers of multiple faiths. To Buddhists, the sacred footprint at the summit is believed to be that of Lord Buddha. Hindus honour it as the mark of Lord Shiva, Muslims regard it as the footprint of Prophet Adam, and Christians believe it was visited by St. Thomas the Apostle.
