Day One: Arrival in Colombo – Transfer to Kitulgala

At Colombo Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by an English-speaking driver from our local tour operator. He will accompany you to your hotel in Kitulgala, with the transfer taking approximately 3an hours half hour. The rest of the day is at your leisure to relax, recover from your flight, and begin exploring the natural charm of Kitulgala.

From the moment of your arrival until your departure, you will have a private, air-conditioned vehicle with a professional English-speaking driver/guide at your full disposal. Your driver will accompany you throughout your entire journey in Sri Lanka. Each day, you can discuss with your driver what you’d like to see and do, as well as the preferred departure times, giving you full flexibility during your tour.

Day Two: Rainforest Trek & Waterfalls – Kitulgala

Start your morning with a hearty breakfast amidst the serene surroundings of Kitulgala, preparing you for a day immersed in nature and adventure. Accompanied by an experienced guide, set off on a trek into the Makandawa Rainforest Reserve, one of Sri Lanka’s oldest and most ecologically rich rainforests. Day 03: Kitulgala – Hatton – Adam’s Peak Base

After a peaceful morning in Kitulgala, embark on a scenic journey toward the sacred mountain of Adam’s Peak, located near the tranquil village of Nallathanniya, close to Hatton. The drive, which takes approximately 4 to 5 hours, winds through misty hills, emerald tea plantations, and picturesque countryside, offering countless opportunities to admire Sri Lanka’s central highland beauty.

En route, pause for a relaxing tea break at a local plantation, where you can sip freshly brewed Ceylon tea while soaking in panoramic views of rolling hills blanketed with tea bushes. Take a moment to learn about the traditional tea-picking process and appreciate the region’s rich tea heritage.

Upon arrival at the base of Adam’s Peak, check in to your guesthouse and settle in. Use the afternoon to rest and recharge, as your night-time pilgrimage awaits. Upon arrival in Nuwara Eliya, often referred to as “Little England” for its colonial charm and cool climate, check in to your hotel and relax. Day 05: Horton Plains Trek – Nuwara Eliya Exploration

Begin your day with an early morning journey to Horton Plains National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Sri Lanka’s most ecologically important highland reserves. Located at over 2,000 meters above sea level, this plateau was once a favorite hunting ground for British colonial rulers during the 19th century. Today, it is a sanctuary for unique flora and fauna found nowhere else on Earth.

Embark on the famed 9.5 km circular trek, passing through cloud forests and open grasslands to reach World’s End and Mini World’s End, where sheer cliff faces drop dramatically over 800 meters.
